There is only one brand and variety that I like to eat (Purina Alpo lamb and rice) and only a few certain dog treats that I like the taste of. Every once in a while when I'm at the store, I'll buy myself a can, or when I'm at my godmother's house I might sometimes eat a few of her dog's treats if they're ones I like.
Dog food is not fit for human consumption. You are eating eyeballs, intestines, feet and feces. Whatever cannot be used for humans is in dog food. And as mentioned above, there are no health standards for the animals used to make pet food, so it is likely you ARE eating diseased animals.
Dog and cat food is oftentimes made out of the parts of animals that we humans cannot/should not/won't eat. Pet food is also usually made up of cuts from cancerous or diseased animals.
In short, NO it's not normal. You are really messing with your health, here!
I used to go to school with a kid whose nickname was "dog biscuit". He used to eat dog biscuits in the playground and in class and stuff. I remember the school bully Simon punched him one time cos he ate a dog biscuit in front of him. we didn't consider him normal lol. 'dog biscuit' works at subway now, i chat to him every so often.
The thought of eating a can of wet chunky dog food makes me feel sorta sick. But hey if you enjoy it then cool = )
Ive thought my cats food smells Ok sometimes when Im hungry(I like meat!) but Im not going to eat it. Just get some Vienna Sausages if you need a cheap low quality meat fix. I had a friend who ate dry dog biscuits in high school but he never admitted it around other people.
And stay away rom the stuff from China its probably toxic for you and your pets.
