I think it's because it provides a small circular grip for my fingers as opposed to a floppy Banana peel.
That weird black thing in the ends of the edible part of the banana. What the heckery is that? I can't bring myself to eat it.
No worries! I ALWAYS leave the ends of my food. It's like a pet peeve for me and I just think the end of something is disgusting...IDK why but anyways that's a whole other subject lol :) My mom also never eats the ends of her food.
@I_got_a_cupcake - I have the same thing! I even came up with a name for it: "LBS = Last Bite Syndrome". I listened ONE TIME to a "Hypnosis for Weight Loss subliminal messages while New Age music lulls you to sleep" thing I sent away for years and years ago, and the next morning and for at least a year afterward I could not bring myself to eat the last bite of whatever food I was eating (I also couldn't bring myself to buy junk food anymore - if I wanted something sweet I had to make a cake - a 3-hour ritual). I still have a problem with the LBS - I have to trick myself into thinking there's more.
I think it's smart. When I used to eat bananas, I would either circumcise the banana and dice the fruit on a plate or I would circumcise it and eat it whole. As for when I got to the end of the skin, I'm not sure what I would do.
When the banana's good I eat all of it, but when it's bad I only chop some of the bad part off. It's a fruit, you know. Nothing bad bout it.
Do exactly the same! I don't know why... sometimes I think there's gonna be something at the bottom... ugh...
You know what's great - sprinkling cinnamon on it. And on the banana as well.
Damnations! Now I have a craving to eat banana but my bed is so cosy and GF so cuddley. Awww, what a conundrum, I wonder if they do dialabanana?

I usually don't even throw my banana peels in the garbage.. =p
