I'm a guy and I love to hug people,especially my friends,is it normal that they think that it's gay to do that?
Since when did hugs qualify as sexual interaction? It just means you are sensitive and affectionate. No being an affectionate person is not the same as wanting to have sex with that person. Whoever told you think is an idiot and insecure about their own sexuality.

If you do a bro hug fine. Don't hug a dude like you would a girl though or they will think you're a homo and won't let you touch them
Hey, it's very normal. Hug very tightly and you will know if the person really appreciates your hugs. I hug as well. I don't give everyone the same hug however. If I know the person really isn't in to it, so to speak, then I make if more of a "greeting" hug. Not in any way sexual. However, if you really give me a hug back and I feel your body parts, then I sometimes get excited.
