I haven't gotten an erection in a week, and I'm beginning to worry. I've always had a high sex drive, and masturbated at least once a day - sometimes two or even three times. But lately I haven't had any interest in porn or sex. Even when I meet a very attractive young lady recently with really big tits I didn't get a hard-on or fantasize about her later and jerk off. Is this normal for a man my age? I'm going to be 62 in a week and I''m really starting to worry. I love sex, even if it's only with myself!

    Have you had erections when you wake up in the middle of the night or in the morning?

    If you have, then there's nothing physically wrong. If you're certain you're not getting any erections at all, then it would probably be a good idea to speak to a urologist about this.

    As I'm sure you realised long ago, the largest sexual organ is between your ears. Think about what else is going on in your life. At your age - our age, actually, since I'm also 62 - it's normal for all sorts of crap to seem more important than sex. I'm not particularly thrilled about that, but I accepted some time ago that I'm not sixteen any more.

      Thanks for your sincere reply, Boo. Yeah, there's a lot more on my mind these days than sex. I used to think about sex like 10x a day but now it's more like every 10 days :-( I will definitely speak to my GP when I see him for an annual physical. Thanks again!

    It is obviously ED.
    It can hit you at the drop of a hat.
    It can come on suddenly , and never go away.
    Once the blood vessels in the cock are damaged , it is permanent.
    There is no surgery to correct ED.

      Some of what you say is true, but I'm pretty sure you're way off-track with this statement. I know Americans are used to getting ripped off when it comes to medication, but in the UK, you can get genuine Viagra from a legit online pharmacy for the equivalent of $3.50 a pill if you buy a pack of sixteen tablets.

        Actually , I called Wal Mart pharmacy 2 years ago and they said $ 50 a pill.
        They said there was no generic for it , and the most a doctor would prescribe was 3 pills.
        There is no OTC pack of 16 pills.

          That's unfortunate. In Britain, you can get Viagra OTC in pharmacies, and Levitra and Cialis by filling in an online pharmacy checklist. Going the bricks-and-mortar pharmacy route costs more, of course, but I'm sure it's nothing like the equivalent of US $50 for one tablet.

          I wonder if the cost and lack of availability in the USA is down to Puritanism or the iron grip of pharmaceutical companies on the sale of drugs.

          Wikipedia says that Pfizer fought to keep Viagra under patent in the USA longer than the original registration covered, but generic Viagra (Sildenafil) has been available since December 2017.

      Don't think I damaged anything. If that was the case, it would have happened years ago when girls were banging me black and blue. And while I have some Viagra, I don't want to waste it just to jerk off. But thanks for the thoughtful comment. At least a candy cane gets sucked once in a while!

      I'm active but I don't run or cycle anymore. One drink/day and no smoking. Plenty of sleep. Thanks!
