Is it normal that i have a reoccurring dream of falling nearly every night?

Every other night i have this one dream where i fall down the stairs and over the banister and through the floor, where the floor is like a black-hole and i keep on falling and i have that horrible sinking feeling when it happens and i actually feel it..when i wake up i feel sick:S what could it be?

I've heard that dreams can be metaphors for events in your life. I don't know how much of that is true, though. I don't do dream interpretations, but I'd say it sounds like you're having some kind of stress in your life. I don't know. Again, I don't know if that stuff is true, but I'd look into it.

There's a certain condition where due to the reduction in respiration when one begins to fall asleep there body gives them a jolt (attempt to kick start all systems) because the reduced respiration makes the mind thino the body is dying. Are you a smoker or overweight? Reduce lung capacity causes this....my point being it feels like you are falling!

Try falling from the heavens and THEN come talk to me. My butt is still sore.

Hey, we all get that sudden falling sensation, is that what you mean? I have friends that get that every night. If not, and this has been going on for a while, it could mean something's bothering you. Have you thought about asking/ seeing a psychologist?

It happens every night and do you think it's serious enough to see a psychologist?

Is it a sudden thing? That wakes you up or a long dream where you're falling into an abyss or something like that? How long has it been going on?

Kind of, it's like a continued drop in the stomach feeling like when you're on one of those rides that just drop and your stomach feels funny:/ and every other night and for about 2 years?

Hmm...I don't know then. Have you asked a doctor? Does it wake you up, or just scare you?
