Is it normal that i hate videogames where the protagonist is a woman?

How do you think it feels for me? Not just a lot of characters being male but the saying are always referrencing gentalmen. It’s kinda annoying but don’t bother me but I try not to get all sexist about it. Past few days I’ve played some Diablo and you can pick the gender which is a nice change.

This isn't even a sexual question. It's more...psychological, I guess? You could ask a lot of gamers this same question and I'm sure they can give you some logical answers.

I can't relate to this situation because I usually play games where you can choose your gender. I think your situation is normal, but hate's a strong word. The title made it sound like you intentionally avoid games with titties on it.

I think your problem has nothing to do with sexism if that's what you're implying. You mention an exception, which means it is acceptable for you to have a female protagonist.

I just think you, and count me in, like games, movies, etc with good characters. If they protagonist is a good character with flaws and talents and an interesting personality, then it doesn't matter if it's male or female, and everyone can relate.

I, however, also noticed recently there has been a surge of female protagonist, but they sometimes expose a forced agenda behind the choice of making the character female. And just because a main character is female or male, it doesn't mean that women or men can relate to them if they are bad characters.

Also it's silly to think girls can only relate to female characters. And boys to men characters. Aren't you a sexist of you can only relate to characters your own gender?

Why is this post being downvoted so much? If the guy didn't like playing with Barbie dolls as a kid because it was hard to relate to mean he's a sexist or homophobe or something? Jeez. Sometimes they stick things in the dialogue, that makes in apparent that they're making a political statement. If it's just chill, with no politics, then it's good though.

Thats why im a strong supporter of character creation or the minimal choosing between 2 people. Just allows a better connection for gameplay

Ye I kind of relate to this dude. I know that a lot of dudes really like playing women when you get to make your own character. I just don't get it.

I mean yeah it probably does play a role in your ability to relate to the character and submerge yourself in the universe. I would say it's preference. I actually like choosing to play as females in my RPG's. I always think they look the coolest in the rouge/assasin/hunter loadouts in games like Skyrim, Diablo, Destiny, ect. Though I haven't really played any character locked games like Tomb Raider or something so idk.

I’ve played horizon zero dawn and Had no problem with it because the game is literally just amazing but if I have to play Ellie in the last of us 2 all the Time and No Joel then I’ll be pretty upset. For me It just depends on the Game. But I prefer a Male Protagonist in a Video game

Because it's all political. I find it insulting to my intelligence when people push politics on me, in general. It's just another mainstream pile of crap from which there is no respite.
