Is it normal that i hate this question
I hate the question, "how are you?". It actually pains me whenever a conversation begins with that.

It bugs me that it is used as a passing greeting. The answer you are supposed to give is fine but then they aren't really asking how I am, it's just a greeting. It makes no fuckin' sense to me why ask a question why not just say Hi and keep walking someone please explain social to me

Exactly. Some people are too uptight and stuck up at times. If someone asks how are you? And you get angry then your life must suck. Self important asshats.

I guess that's why I asked the question on the site...Why are you assuming all those things just because I don't like a simple question? I don't like the question because the most response is typically, "good" and that's it. It doesn't further the conversation nor engage any topic. And in the rare instances where your reply is different and you go on to explain how you're ACTUALLY doing, the other person honestly does not care. Why? Because as @NeuroNeptunian said, it's just a passing greeting. I'd rather start or have someone start a conversation based on observation. This is just a pet peeve.
