Yeah, guess I couldn't argue that airplanes really are the fastest transportation medium for long distance travels. Still though, riding planes is so unpleasant - first class or economy, it's all the same boring, uncomfortable setup.
It used to be a lot of fun to fly. I've flown all over the world, hung out with the pilots on the flight deck, and even sat at the controls (right side) on small, interisland, puddle jumpers.
Not today! I feel that I'm paying a whole lot of money to be hassled, bullied, treated without courtesy and made as uncomfortable as the airlines can possibly make me.
Long ago, air travel was for elite business passengers, and I liked it - good meals, attractive stewardesses, courteous service. As planes depreciated, so did ticket prices. Now air travel is for the masses. People are handled like cargo. I don't fly unless I have to.
how old are you that you remember this? I thought you had to be some young, obnoxious kid.
It really wasn't that long ago when air travel was actually something to get excited about rather than something to get annoyed by.
I wonder how long it will be before they start stacking passengers. Some airlines have actually bounced around the idea of "standing seats".
You don't like it because it's boring? I will agree that it is uncomfortable, but boring?
I'm an airline brat so even though it is a hassle, I still enjoy the thrill of take off and landing. And it can transport you thousands of miles in a few hours. What a way to start journey!
I don't fly anymore. I don't mind the plane ride itself but I can't stand all the security crap.
