I simmer inside when parents assume you like children and force you to interact with them, (I mean strangers, not people you can choose to interact with.) I work in customer service and parents have their kids hand me the money, use the debit machine or ask for their prescriptions. ARRGG. Not everyone is a kid person!
They are not assuming you are a kid person or like kids; maybe they are trying to teach their kids about the world. I have my 3 year old hand the cashier the money or take the receipt all the time so he can learn and interact. It has nothing to do with me wanting the cashier to be a "kid person". Maybe interaction with children would teach you some compassion and let you realize the world does not revolve around you.
Sounds like happyB speaks for us all. I hav a similar story though, my dad would make me hand the cashier money and things all the time when i was little, and this one cashier WOULDNT take the money i offered because she thought it was "Not kid appropiate" and to this day I remember how much i hated her

I am not a kid person but I completely agree with happyB; it's more about helping the kid learn about the world than about my own comfort with it. After all, we were all kids once.
Don't be such a douche, you were a kid once too. The only way they're going to learn about the world is if they're taught and they experience things for themself.

I hate ill mannered kids, I see them give nasty looks to people who are diffrent from them yesterday these two kids give a MEAN look to a lady who was slightly special, and the grandmother was right there, and sao0d nothing,
