I bet your hair is pretty the way it is naturally. You should look up your hair type and find how to take care of it. Definitely don't go the chemicals route you could end up damaging your scalp and ruining your hair. Don't fight against your natural hair, work with it.

As to the question if you should relax or not, I would go a different route and pick a natural relaxer or something that doesn't have harmful ingredients in it.

Also it's okay to not like your natural hair reguardless of what type of texture it is. Your natural hair is not you. It's litterally a sun hat for your head.

I can understand why others may be obsessed or passionate about natural hair but that doesn't mean you have to keep that on conscious to maintain natural hair. Try different products you feel won't damage your hair and scalp and see how that goes. Smiles.

I assume you're black or latina and you want to relax your hair to straighten it even though you didn't say all that. I realize I could be wrong. But going on my assumption, I'd tell you to experiment with different products before you chemically straighten your hair. As someone who's done it in the past, it's not worth it.

Ask yourself first WHY you want to straighten your hair. People have instilled such a warped version of beauty into women. Take Beyonce for example. Underneath the wigs she wears, her hair is natural. Her mother used to be a hair stylist and b/c her mom knew the damage styling beyonce's hair constantly would cause that's one of the reasons. The other reason is that the overall standard for hair for women is that white women's hair set the standards for beauty and there's really no way around that. Which is why women of color spend millions of dollars buying Asian hair every year.

Definitely keep it natural. Natural hair is gorgeous, so thick and voluminous and so much versatility with styling.

Assuming you're female, the amount of women (of all races) who have receding hairlines, bald spots, brittle hair that won't grow long... that's what years of chemicals, dyes and hair extensions will do to you. It's not worth it.
