I'm a heavy metal fan and I like other genres of music. Heavy metal fans obviously hear the passion in the music and if you only hear "someone ripping the guitar apart" you might be tone deaf. You think the people who play heavy metal would be great at other genres? Well maybe that's because they're great at heavy metal. There is great metal music, just like there is great music of other genres. You're no better than heavy metal fans who only listen to heavy metal and hate everything else, same attitude - just inverted.

I think you're the ignorant one with all you stereotypes about metal and metalheads. its ok if you dont like it, but its a bit shallow saying you dont like people that like it. and it takes a lot of talent to play metal, also there are different sub-genres so you should try listening to some different types, you might like it.

I love metal. I am into Slayer, Metallica, Pantera, Anthrax and other artists. And I hate metalheads. Why? Because they're extremely narrow-minded and absolutely shit on anything that's "fake metal" to them. I *hate* metalheads. But metal up your ass! (That's not meant to be hostile, by the way) Start out with some Judas Priest or Disturbed. Then branch out to maybe Anthrax, than Slayer. You don't have to if you don't want to, but at least respect heavy metal as a legitimate genre. Peace!

People who do like heavy metal do see the passion, and think that other people are sheltered. I don't see why it bothers you that some people like different music. I don't care what you listen to, unless it is Justin Beiber and in which case I hate you.

I guess it just depends on what sort of issues you like music to be about. If you want music that tackles anger and real political issues, listen to heavy metal and punk music. If you want music that makes you feel happy, then don't.

I'm half white and more Hispanic and love heavy metal. I'm not pale at all. I can sometimes get a little pale but that's the white in me. Anyways race doesn't matter. If you hate heavy metal than don't like it. I'm not forcing you to like it. It's up for you to decide what you don't like and like.

Hey, I'm a metal fan and I think that's stereotyping! While metal is my favorite music, I also like rock blues and electro(no vocals). Maybe you've just heard the stereotypical metallic style thrash metal, try listening to songs like the trooper and hallowed be thy name and run to the hills by iron maiden, paranoid , faeries wear boots and electric funeral by black sabbath, and holy wars and symphony of destruction by megadeth! These are all great songs and listen to the lyrics, you will see why metal in my opinion has some of the best lyrics ever!

Dont judge people by their taste of music. I listen to deathcore, metal and so on, and i have friends who listen to rap. I dont care, sometimes i even listen to james blunt or eminem, it depends on my mood.
