Is it normal that i hate being so fat but i can't bring myself to change?

I'm 18 and over 420 pounds and i hate being this way. I don't eat much but i don't excersie at all. Every time i try to change i can't bring myself to do it and i get no support from my family. They are all over weight as well. Can anyone help me?

    The simple answer to your question, is yes its normal that you hate being fat but feel like you cant do a thing about it. Theres so many other people in the same situation.
    You have to force change though, it doesnt just come to you.
    Get up, play some sports or hit the gym, or both, and start eating good food. Those life practices combined will shed your weight like a snake sheds its skin This is totally scientific, but YOU need to do it. Thats all there is to it. Dont rely on other people.

    I think people who want a gastric band should try to eat mush food for 3 months before hand coz that's all they're supposed to eat after!

    Anyway, you need to eat proper food. My sister who was always overweight has lost 40lbs only eating what grows or moves - natural food she calls it, no processed crap! I don't eat fast food so have never been overweight but she was never out of restaurants.

    There was a girl on tv morbidly obese who was too embarassed to exercise in case people saw her. She walked to the end of her road at night and then back. After a while she was able to walk a little further until she could walk round the block.

    I like to walk with a purpose, to go to the shop or walk the dog etc. It only takes you to turn off the tv or computer and get up and move but if you're not eating rubbish any more you need to burn the excess off.

    Being obese you have a very high chance of early heart attack and diabetes. Life expectancy is not good.

    It is super hard to change your lifestyle. I watched my mom go through the same thing. One day she decided that no food would ever taste as good as changing would feel. And she did it! So it just takes self discipline...easier said than done though.

    I don't know what country you live in but here, you're in the weight range (depending on your height) where you could get a gastric band fitting at no cost to yourself. My friend peaked at 405 pounds, got a band, and now weighs 125 pounds.

    I'd always recommend that willpower is best but where it's just not happening, I think it's okay to seek medical backup. If you do get a band, be prepared to throw up a lot as you get used to just how little you're now able to eat.
