Is it normal that i had friends but don't anymore in college?

I've always been a social person and had a lot of friends. But ever since I've come to college I haven't made any friends (my college is far from home, I don't know anybody in this new city). I've made an effort with a couple of people and I meet them but very very rarely. Its probably because I spend a lot of time with my boyfriend but that can't be the only reason. Also, its been over 6 months and I feel like if it hasn't happened yet, it's not gonna happen anytime soon.
