Is it normal that i got real cold and shaky the first time i slept with a guy?

This guy and me are just friends, I'm gay though and kinda like him. He's shown and told me of some interest in guys in the past but he only dates girls. He hugs me tight and we've kissed (only on the neck or cheek) when he leaves my house. The last time he actually spent the night. We were in bed watching TV for a bit then I turned it off and it was quiet and I started shivering like mad and my hands and feet went cold, I literally got cold feet! I felt bad when he pointed it out. Talking and concentrating on his breathing calmed me down at first then I finally stopped after an hour or so. It was not cold before we went to bed and we had two blankets and the heater on. Maybe I was just nervious or anxious and was hoping for some cuddling (or, really wishful thinking, kissing). We spooned a while but I was the one behind him and I'm sure he was fast asleep while I was awake. Some might think it's kinda creepy feeling up on a guy and smelling him (not like sniffing all over like an animal, that is just a little strange) in his sleep but I haven't done much and I just like how it feels being close to someone and I love how he smells.. I didn't touch him inapropriately. However much of a porno fantasy that is I have boundaries. I only had my arm aroud him. I just wish someone would have the same feelings for me when I do for them and that they'd let me know :/ but I hate how I get all shaky around guys in this type of situation where I'm so close to them. It takes a while to warm up, literally and figuratively, and feel comfortable each time. Is that normal?
