Is it normal that i get really really depressed after a holiday abroad??

Well this happens every summer, I always go on holiday in the summer holidays. As soon as I get back I feel really depressed and this lasts for the period of 2 months. I know everyone starts to miss their holiday but my friends get back and they miss it for a while, then they are back to normal in a day or two. But me its different and I do not understand why. I really hate this feeling and it really affects me. I live in england by the way.

  • Yes, it is normal. There's actually a term for it, but I'm sorry, I can't remember what it is - but it does exist, really.

Ever heard of Mormons? They send their adult-youth on a "Mission" to all corners of the globe trying to get people to join their religion. Males (19-27) do a 24-month trip and females (21+) or married adult couples are expected to do a 12 month trip. Sometimes when they come back from their time away, they have a difficult time acclimatizing themselves back into their regular old lives. They miss the communities and cultures they put so much of themselves into while they were away.

Maybe what you're experiencing is something like that.
