Is it normal that i get mad when people mix up labs and golden retrievers?

Okay so I get VERY mad and/or annoyed when people confuse yellow labradors and golden retrievers. I know a lot about dogs and I myself have a Labrador. Labs and Goldens are my favorites and I love them :) I don't mean to get annoyed but every time someone says "omg look at that cute yellow lab!" when it's actually a golden retriever... I get so annoyed and pissed off! And then I correct them(trying to sound nice) why do I get like this?? Is it normal?

    short hair golden retrievers looks very similar. but seriously, why is this so important to you? do you get angry at every little thing? the stress will kill you.

      Lol aussiewolf thinks it stresses me out... Hahah this hardly happens like a few times a year and it happened the other day so I felt like posting on here :P not like I think about it all the time 24/7 on my mind hahaha people are dumb as fuck

        anyway these are your words "Okay so I get VERY mad..." what do you expect people to think when you write a half assed story and then abuse people for thinking one thing... looking for attention huh? so sad, so very sad.

    It's not normal because why get angry? It's ok to think it's annoying or bothersome or something less than angry.

      Lol u may be right .. But let me clarify it isn't something that bothers me in a daily basis.. Not even close to that. I ONLY get angry when it happens. I should of made that more clear in the story .. But yeah even to get angry is weird that is why I posted on here lol

    They're somewhat similar, but they're many key differences. I think it's normal to both be confused by them and angry at the confusion. It's understandable. They're many other animals that are easy to confuse with another.

    I can understand why people would confuse them. You have to admit, they're more similar than, say, a saluki and an akita. The coat is a complete giveaway, of course, between golden retrievers and labrador retrievers and I've noticed the breeds have different personalities.

    What I don't understand is why you'd be so annoyed by someone knowing less about dogs than you? By your own admission, you know a lot about dogs. So the natural state of affairs is that most people know less than you and will make mistakes. I think you have to learn to accept it better.

    What?? They are so easy to tell apart. Their hair is totally different, among other thing. What really tweaks my nads is when people just say 'pit bull'. *sigh* there's many dogs that fit the pit bull type catagory. I have two American pit bull terriers :) and people can be so annoying.

      Yeah the pit bull thig I can totally see too people getting confused .. But for me I don't know why I get mad and you're right yellow labs and golden retrievers have way different fur but there is still people who confuse the two!
