Is it normal that i get annoyed by weird numbers on volume and microwave?

I don't know why, but I get extremely annoyed whenever someone uses "weird" numbers on volume, microwave oven, alarm clocks, etc.

By weird numbers I mean numbers that are not multiples of five or two.

I prefer multiples of five. My volume is always set to 10, 15, 20, 25, etc. and I hate it when people heat their food in the microwave oven for, say, 9 seconds. I mean, who does that? Or alarm clocks set at 6:31, seriously?

I wonder if anyone feels the same...?

As a teenager, I couldn't get out of bed unless it was a multiple of 5 minutes past the hour. I'd still sooner have the volume on my TV at 8, 10 or 12 rather than 9 or 11. And I'd never ever go anywhere near 13. I skip through that one as quickly as possible.

I think we're all mildly neurotic. But we're not doing anyone any harm.

I have never even THOUGHT about adjusting my volume to a "normal" number. There is no such thing as a "normal" number, being a multiple of five does not make it "normal". You are obsessive compulsive, people go on medication and to therapy for that.

I'm exactly the same but I only like the multiples of five my volume has to be 5,10,15 or I get annoyed and if I watch something on the internet that has episodes I only stop watching when the episode is on a multiple of five I gess you can say its my fav number but I think everyone has some kind of problem like that

6:31 so they accidently went 1 minute over, you have to go all the way around the clock again? hahah i used to be like the until i realised those things don't matter... but i still like my volume to end in 0 or 5

    Hah, you'd hate me then!!

How does pushing 10 on a microwave make ANY sense? It's soooo much easier to just push 9 or 11. Why 45? Your finger is already on the 4 so just go with 44!! It makes sense. It DOESN'T make any sense to purposely make it be a multiple of 5.

On an alarm clock, strange numbers help you wake up quicker as it's confuses you in your half-awake state, it tricks you into having to think about what time it is. Think about it, if you wake up and your clock reads 6:38, you'd have to actually wake up and read all the numbers vs if the clock reads 6:40, that does nothing to wake up your mind. It's just a little trick that really works.

You are not alone. I always use multiples of 5 too, and I can't see why anybody wouldn't.
