Is it normal that i gag/throw up while trying to eat unprocessed meats?

I like meat but I cannot eat any meats with bones, fat, etc. still attached, especially chicken. If the fat, skin, etc. touched my tounge I literally gag. I can easily eat chicken fingers, de-boned breasts and the like as well as deli meats and other processed meats. I just cannot stomach the real deal... So tell me, is this normal?

I threw up a little bit in my mouth when I read about the veins. I'm probably not going to eat meat now.

I was eating lamb off the bone and just happened to notice a little white tube in the meat. When I realised it was a vein, I was so utterly horrified that I gave the meal to the dog and I've not eaten meat since.

We process meat these days in such a way as to disguise what it actually is. If we're only prepared to eat it when it's made to look like something else, we shouldn't eat it at all. Why eat something you can only tolerate if its appearance has to be lied about?

it's completely normal AND healthy. don't fight it! skin and fat are terrible for you. processed meats are pressed and most of the fat taken out. I'm grossed out by seeing a carcus and it's skin, it reminds me that an animal was killed. yeah yeah, i know..hypocrite. i can't help it. if all meat were on the bone, i would never eat meat again.

It's normal. Just eat as much protein as you can.

Have your tried using a knife? And if it's prepared well the meat may just fall off the bone. And don't think your processed meat doesn't contain bones- just because you can't see it, does not mean it isn't ground up into tiny pieces. Lets just hope it all came from one animal.

I prepare my meats with the fat and bones as it does result in a better flavor. At time of consumption, the fat and bones are removed obviously. It is all a matter of preference.

Both are disgusting. I can't handle the vein business...gag...but processed meats are nothing but veins, gristle, fat, all the trash parts, fillers and ammonia. Yes, ammonia. Sick.

Lol god forbid you eat a vein.

It's meat, dead animal, no matter how you put it that vein is still gonna be there. Just ground up and hidden with chemicals...bluh. I try my very best to avoid processed meat, it's also been proven that processed meat leads to a TON of health issues.

  • I'm the same, I cannot eat meat off the bone because the thought makes me gag. It has to be de-boned and I'm so fussy, that if I see anything different with the meat (colour mostly) I refuse to eat it.
