Is it normal that i find this cliche in erotic material cringey?
I mostly watch hentai and read fanfictions, but I think it's cringey in anything else too.
It's when a ridiculously innocent virgin who knows nothing about even the most basic of sexual acts, has a more knowledgeable character explain the stuff to them like they're a 5 year old.
When a teenage or adult character talks like a child, and acts like a child, especially about sex, I cringe.
It's also cringe when a youngish character obliviously asks other characters about sex, and is completely unmindful of their blushing and stammering, indicating the question was private.
They continue to ask around, until some pervert decides show them, or perhaps an older character explains it to the little green shit.
My main issue with this cliche is the lack of subtlety. It's usually only so bad when it's tell, not show. You can show a character being guided through sexual acts, as a certain level of ignorance is normal.
It's excusable for characters who've lived in isolation, but for a kid who goes to a normal school and everything, not so much.
