Is it normal that i find supporting abortion only in "rape" cases hypocritical?

It seems to me that every conversation about abortion eventually ends up in the analysis of people that get pregnant after rape. Personally, I don't think that a rape situation brings anything into the argument, and that people that support abortion only in these cases are hypocrites.

I see the abortion controversy issue like this: people that belief that the embryo/fetus is a complete human and that deserves the same rights as a person, against people that think that the well-being or interests of the mother/parents are more important.

So, I feel like if you believe that an abortion is killing a human being, then the exception for raping cases makes no sense. As far as I am concerned, it is not correct to kill people related to rapists in any legislation. So, I think that people that say this, should just support abortion in all the cases then, since the raping issue is within the "unwanted pregnancy" thing. Additionally, I don't believe that it is correct to hold a grudge on a being that has not done anything bad to you.

Personally, I support abortions 100%, but I respect people that do not and I really try to understand their point. I just cannot understand the ones that make the exception for rape. So, anyway, what do you think guys?

    Kill the rapists instead!
    :-)
Heck, even if they have an abortion or don't get pregnant, kill the rapists. It's always a good time to kill rapists and child molesters. Don't forget to kill rapists who violate men too. All rapists are better off dead.

Why the quotation marks around the word rape, as if you are saying it doesn't exist?

I don't care for abortion, quite honestly. I see fetuses as people in the same way that the court will prosecute for two murders instead of one if a pregnant woman is killed. I believe that the "there are children in shitty foster homes" etc. Argument only proves the point of reforming the childcare system than acting like legal termination of pregnancy to keep it empty justifies abortion. The idea of women terminating inconvenient pregnancies seems rather callous to me but I'm grateful to have never been in the situation.

At the same time, I'm an educator and I have worked with children who were born to parents who didn't want them. Those parents, a minority no doubt, gave birth to healthy children and crippled those children through abuse. I worked with children whose parents essentially turned them into vegetables and watched one die a horrifyingly painful death due to organ failure as a result of being born to a woman who did not care to have children. In other words, some children are better off dead from the beginning.

I'm not saying that every woman who aborts her pregnancy is some kind of sociopath. I'm not saying they'd abuse their children. I'm saying, don't give them the opportunity. That child is unwanted and likely will be treated that way, even by otherwise sane yet desperate and angry women.

I do completely understand by some victims of such a hideous act would ask for the pregnancy terminated due to the psychological and physical trauma they experienced.

In regards to other abortions, we would be able to eliminate a large percentage of these if society was more open to providing the means to prevent such situations in the first place. i.e. contraceptions, education, etc.

Of course it is hypocritical, even though somewhat understandable.

I am pro abortion, by the way. At any time, in any case. If the parents don't want their child - it's better if it isn't born, harsh as it may sound.

Of course it's harsh; it's also deluded, since there are plenty of people who want a child, and adoption is an option.
