Is it normal that i find scars interesting, not ugly?
Apparently if you see that someone has a scar, it's inappropriate to point it out in case you reopen an old memory which they would rather forget.
I refuse to tread on eggshells when it comes to talking about scars. I'm not saying I actively seek out people on the street who are covered in scars, it's just, if I'm already talking to someone and I happen to spot that they have a scar, my brain says "that's a chapter of their life which they wear on their skin, and I want to know more about it".
Anyone can take their clothes off, but it's only when you bear your soul to someone and let them in on your past that you can truly say they've seen you naked.
According to someone on social media, this train of thought means I'm an "insidious, autistic, delusional serial killer" and a "downright malicious asshole". As it happens, I have a completely clean criminal history, so I laughed it off as trolling.
I'm all about body positivity and owning my flaws. If you're willing to bleed a little, I'll bleed with you (metaphorically speaking, of course!). Hell, I've got scars myself and I'm proud of them. Feel free to ask away.
Is it normal though that I find scars fascinating, and if someone tells me I'm insensitive for pointing them out I just think, "Grow a backbone and deal with it, you pathetic little snowflake!"?
