Is it normal that i feel shame when i think aboutmy father's death?

We've never quite had the "father and daughter" reltionship. he remains a stranger to me but still when I think about him becoming old and someday dying I feel this extreme shame (i don't even know shame of what).

Children often feel ashamed when a parent is distant or rejecting during their youth. Young children are self-centred and incapable of understanding that they did not cause situations around them such as their parents divorcing or a parent disliking them.

Children are biologically programmed to attach to their parents, if that bond is weakened or severed it is almost always the parent’s doing.

Even though this situation is almost certainly not your fault your feelings of shame are normal.
