Is it normal that i feel sad for the people who have to live in north korea?

I feel sad for the 25 million people who have to live in North Korea and aren't allowed to leave. Has to be a literal hell living there!

I was watching a few people who escaped NK and they said half the population are brainwashed into believing they have a good life..kinda sounds like America come to think of it 🤔

I find North Korean soldiers very attractive. Wish I could somehow just rescue them all

What are your thoughts on Turkmenistan? They're really similar; imagine North Korea, except they actually have a very successful export (natural gas)

    • No. North Korea is obviously a prison-of-a-country, the most unfree place on earth.

Probably but you still dont know what information is bullshit like the general being eaten in piranha tanks or his uncle being killed by rabid dogs or other diplomats being run over by tanks. Its hard to find real info about North Korea because they dont have a free press and western journalists arent actually free to interview citizens and leaders there. Everything you hear is basicall6 rumors.

That's a reason I want to visit North Korea one day. I still want to even after like 6 years of research.

          • There is a risk you'll be put in a North-Korean labor camp if you do something illegal though, and literally EVERYTHING is illegal there.

It's very rare for foreigners visiting the country with tour groups though, and they do give a briefing explaining what you are and aren't allowed to do. Obviously there are some rules that seem downright silly, like that if you take a picture of the Kim Il-Sung statue, you must include the whole body and stuff like that. Many people visit North Korea and I can only think of one person who was detained for trying to steal a propaganda poster. Even he I think was used as some kind of ploy and don't really know if I can believe anything I heard, the whole thing seemed kind of... fake and weird to me.
