Is it normal that i feel like this upperclassman girl is a motherly figure

Is it normal that I feel like I have a motherly bond to this upperclassman girl (I don't think she feels anything about me)? I have tensions with my real mother very frequently, but she's still all right and in my life. However, I am estranged from my father so we haven't spoken in quite a few years. I'd say that I'm lacking a fatherly figure, but not a motherly figure?

Ooo child, I bet that's just the tip of the proverbial iceberg, but I hope I'm wrong.

Sure, it's normal for people, especially aged 17-25, to have a parent/child or mentorship relationship with non-family members, even when they have a normal family situation.
