Is it normal that i feel like i no longer know what to do after what happened?

I got told by a teacher at school, only to be told to go self-isolate because my friend had COVID-19, I had to isolate despite being tested negative for COVID then I get a call asking if I have any of the symptoms, so far my life feels kinda empty and it feels sad that I can't go anywhere, I have to confine myself to keep myself safe but I still feel bad for my friend though who is tested positive for the coronavirus.

I purely hate 2020 and I want to blurt out " FUCK YOU COVID-19 " but saying it won't help anything.

If I had been told not to come to school for no reason I'd have been celebrating.

OP probably have to do makeup work, though. I'd rather go to school every day than have to do multiple days worth of makeup work.

I would celebrate but feel kinda sad at the same time doing it because I can't go to the gym or anywhere.

The self-isolation isn't to keep yourself safe; it's for the safety of others. Though I do feel as though the government making people stay in their homes is rather against American principles.

I’m sorry about your friend and I also am so sorry that you’re struggling in this isolating period. Let me just say, you’re NOT alone. I have been feeling the same exact way; feeling empty and just like there’s no hope or bright future to come. I had a COVID scare in my family a couple months ago, I was supposed to be moving to Europe to finish my graduate studies this Fall (now I can’t go at all), and I was supposed to move in with my girlfriend (she ghosted me after she found out that my dad came in contact with COVID—he tested negative the next day). I hope things get better for you, love. Until then, know you’re not alone and things can only last but so long. I think within the next 1-2 years things should start picking back up again! So that’s something!

in France we are not confined if the test is negative.
it's weird to confine people who are not sick ....

I'm sorry you're going through this, it sounds tough! I hate being cooped up inside with nothing to do as well (we got snowed in in my area during the winter of 2019, plus I got sick on top of that, and it was absolutely AWFUL). Hopefully the time passes quickly and you'll be back to life as normal! In the meantime, hang in there!
