Okay first of all, your girlfriend is very immature for saying "gross". Are we back in third grade again? Like seriously. And you should not ruin your relationship over a stupid fart. Everyone farts it's normal.
Her parents will forget about it, or later on they'll just laugh about it with you. Just don't get all worked up about this.

A real woman would have made you feel comfortable after something so embarrassing. Maybe like, laughed with you or said oops with you then told you it was ok with a smile. Instead she is being a drama queen over a fart???? That's just immature.

wow dude, not cool. When you fart in front of your gf's family you need to release said fart with slow and weak pressure. Be patient, and finally the fart will be fully released with no sound at all. And instead of whispering oops you shoudve blame someone else (not specifically) just ask who farted or make a grossed out face looking at someone, that way no1 will ever know about your horrible mistake.

But anyway, there were a series of errors here.
Firstly - do not, under any circumstances, meat people without their consent in a written contract.
Secondly - do not unleash fart combo's. Nothing catches people off guard quite like a nice uppercut of farts.
Third - do not excuse yourself then leave out the back door. Plan ahead and excuse yourself then head to the kitchen. Find a conveniently placed fire axe then, like my gf on her periods, start swinging that thing everywhere until no-one alive knows your secret.

As much as I don't like dealing with other people's gas, I've had come to terms that it's a natural process... If we didn't expel wind we'd all probably be dead. Don't waste your time with those silly humans. Yes, you ruined their appetites and "perfect dinner", but it's no reason for them to carry on like that. Denying a fact of life! Things that could've been done to alleviate the situation are: 1. Turn on the fan and blow that noxious odor away! 2. Politely leave the room until it dissipated 3. You (OP) goes to the bathroom and COMES BACK to finish the night. By leaving due to your embarrassment, you no doubt made another bad impression. Which goes back to my other point that she and her immature family aren't worth you and your NATURAL digestive system's valuable time.

your girlfriend and her parents need to grow the hell up. anybody who says "gross," in response to a fart, is a childish hypocrite. she can't say that she never farted, or her parents. everyone farts. sometimes it's hard to control. talk to her, and if she makes a big deal out of it, maybe it is time to find a new girlfriend.

That is so weird that they would react that way, really not worth it to be around people like that. Don't worry we all have fart stories and we have all been embarrassed, while you might dread the memory, know that this was normal and something to laugh about! Learn to laugh at yourself, it is a keynote in enjoying life and not taking it too seriously.
