Is it normal that i enjoy heavy metal music but i can't stand metalheads?
I have a great taste in music which encompasses rock, soul, heavy metal (not black/death metal, no way hosae), classical, progressive rock, 80s pop, world, reggae, video game soundtracks, etc.
And while metal is one of the many types of music I enjoy, I just get really annoyed by metalheads.
If you look up heavy metal music videos on YouTube, like Iron Maiden, the people who post comments on these videos are arrogant, angry b**tards who think their metal-hungry taste makes them so perfect.
I just find metalheads incredibly shallow. I hate they way they treat metal like a religion. I hate the way they refuse to listen to anything else, just because it's not metal. I hate the way they see heavy metal bands as the "gods of music" - bands that can never disappoint, although when I listen to metal I know if I don't like a song. I don't say "Whatever, it's metal".
And if you say to them, for example "I like heavy metal, but I prefer classical." they'll be at least one of them that will chuck cruel insults at you and get thumbs up for it.
I've had one tell me explicitly to "Burn in hell" when I accidentally mentioned that my favourite band is Genesis, not Motorhead.
And don't get me started on those death metal lovers. Those guys are just cuckoo, somehow able to tell the difference between a "good" brutal guitar breakdown and a "bad" one. Yeah, tuneless satanic noise certainly is better than tuneless satanic noise, you morons -_-
I just wish diehard metal fans would learn to accept opinions and perhaps get into more music genres. Metal is awesome, but not 24/7.
IIN?
