Is it normal that i don't understand how anyone could willingly do this?

I don't understand how any one could work at fast food chains like Mcdonald's, Burger King, or Wendy's. I understand if they're there because they lost their previous jobs but I don't get how anyone would willingly work there if there's no need to. I heard that Fast food business is nothing but cheap labor where you get abused by both customers and the people you work with and that nothing good can be obtained from it (That and you constantly get made fun of and looked down upon by outsiders who probably never experienced the horrible job that is fast food preparation). You can't even make a proper living off of working at Mcdonald's or some other fast food joint (And unless they increase the minimum wage rate to where you can support yourself, then working at a fast food joint will always be a mediocre job and cause you to be on welfare). I just don't get why anyone would go into the fast food business willingly. IIN?

Honestly it's a job. When you're young and still live with your parents, it's good to have some extra money so you don't have to rely on them for every single thing. Ya it may not be the best thing in the world, but it's a job nonetheless that will show you that you have to work hard if you want to buy the latest iphone, playstation, whatever. However, if you're not someone who lives at home and you have a family to take care of, well then honestly that sucks cause you can't live off minimum wage but you have a family to take care of. I think that's one thing that people don't seem to realize, in today's world, teens aren't the only ones who work at McDonalds.

Anime has it down pretty much. There is a silly negative assumption where people think being caught "flipping burgers" is only something reserved for the scum of the earth but seriously, where you work does not have to be some status symbol and it may be smarter to take any job you can get. If you are getting paid then you are doing just fine and if not, some may work at two jobs. Oh you work as customer service for Time Warner Cable? Customers call all day complaining about things that they have no idea how to work in a rude manner and people who work there don't have the best patience either sometimes. I don't think any job is free from potential problems.

Have you ever thought about people needing a job period? Nobody wakes up and says "I only wanna work at mcdonalds sooo bad, im gonna go apply!". Some income is always better than being flat broke. And you have false information, people working in fast food joints do not get made fun of(although they may come in contact with rude costumers occasionally). They actually gain the opportunity to meet a ton of people. I don't work in one but I know people who do work in fast food joints and they are reasonably okay. You just sound uneducated and ignorant for posting this. Next time at the very least, look up reviews for your topic before mindlessly posting stuff like this online.

Though I never have worked in a fast food place, or even an office for that matter, I'm not one to talk, but better to work than be on welfare.
The is some satisfaction in bringing home a paycheck, and though that job may not be what one envisioned their life would be, it does mean independence and one can always hold their head high at the end of a trying day.
"There but for the grace of god go I".

I haven't done this kind of job, but here are my thoughts...

    1. It's better than nothing. If someone can't get another job for whatever reason and can get one there, at least they can earn some money.

    2. Convenience. People seeking part-time work (e.g. college students) can make a little money on the side without travelling very far.

It's not something to build a career on, but rather a way to earn money if when you need it.

As a customer I don't abuse them. I have a massive crush on a girl who works there in fact but I dunno how to ask her out.

  • Why can't I be a cow, anyhow?
    Cows never cry
    My heart was broken, broken
    Cows are so open, open
    Broken, Broken, Broken
    It was broken
    Open, Open, Open
    Cows are open.

I'm not sure if that was cheesy, or if you're just being sour. Either way, it sounds like a bunch of bull.

  • Wow, someone sounds fucking spoiled rotten.

As other's have already said :

    1. It's money.
    2. It's job experience.
    3. When you're young jobs like that can actually be fun.
    4. You can work your way up and make decent money if you want to.
    5. You meet a lot of young people which you can date.
    6. I've never heard of anyone looking down at girls or even guys working at a fast food place if they are young. It's expected.
    7. In some locations like small towns fast food type jobs are mostly what there are.
    8. Not everyone wants a serious job. There are many retired people working at fast food places for fun and to be social.

    9. Stop sucking your mommy's tit and get out in the real world and get yourself a job you spoiled brat.

    10. I knew a guy in high school that worked at Mc Donalds and he not only gave us all free food (thanks bro) but he stole over $4k from the register and then travelled around the world.
Obviously stealing was wrong but oh well it's his karma not mine.

Oh sorry I wasn't supposed to say that, opppsy.

    True story.

My ex pottery student and lodger makes a great living working for McDonalds. He's a corporate lawyer who sues anyone who even mentions their name online. Expect a knock at your door and a gleaming new BMW for him.
