Is it normal that i don't like to be sexually touched/approached when...

go dancing in a nightclub. Basically if DJ plays the sort of music/tune that makes me wanna 'hit the floor' then I would dance... pretty good and sexy (as said my mates). Don't get me wrong I love dancing even though never take any class before. It's just free style dancing but you know it feels like natural and basically can help me destress.

Ooops, sorry tad wordy. Thing is I'm okay with those who I know more or less getting close to me when I dance. By getting close I mean touchy moves and honestly I don't mind if I find him not to show any/too much sign of sexual approach - you know what I mean. But to those who I don't know at all, as in strangers - other clubgoers, I could never feel okay with it.

So... is it normal to feel it that way?

Eternal difference between girls and guys. Girls often times are there to have fun. They like to look good, sexy, whatever....but that doesn't mean they want to do anything but dance. Guys rarely realize this and tend to make it out to be WAY more sexual than it is.

I worked at a club a few years back and I had to quit because I was tired of seeing girls having fun - and eventually having some asshole come grope them or get too friendly. Sickened me. A VERY small number of girls were looking to take someone home.

In the same tone of voice, people have to be responsible for themselves. That goes for the girls too. If you don't think that you're sending a message by being drunk and grinding on some guy, then you shouldn't be there. This conjures the age-old argument that "the girl was asking for it" Is a girl asking for it?? No one knows. So have control over yourself. If a guy begins to get a little friendly, let him know. If he persists, walk away. If he persists more, then knee him. I promise you that every club dancefloor has SEVERAL hidden cameras and it will be obvious you were defending yourself.

When I worked at a club, we REGULARLY had to review tapes for police documentation.

I was having a lot of trouble deciphering this post until I imagined reading it as Borat.

Also, I wouldn't look too much into guys wanting to dance next to you, or even trying to 'pick you up', in your gorgeous skimpy nightclub attire.
Generally its just a young guys testosterone attitude that makes them go abnormally animalistic when being in a room full of beautiful girls to the beat of a heavy bass drum.

If they get 'touchy' and you don't like it, just move away from them, or let them know then and there you are not interested. ie Nearly every guys defeated feelings after leaving a 'singles' nightclub!

Be aware that nighclubs ARE a singles meat market for guys towards girls; the only way to change that is by going to a guys gay nightclub and dancing there till your hearts content, unless of course you subconsciously like the attention?

I understand what you mean... Just because you're dancing doesn't mean you want some stranger to grab on to you and start rubbing his crotch on you.

There's nothing wrong in not wanting that.
