Iin, that i don't like my country's national anthem(s)?

When I was a child, I liked my country's national anthems as well as practically any song that was centered on the theme of my country. I am older now and my tastes have greatly changed. The other day, I was listening to national anthems from other countries and I found that I greatly preferred those. My favorite being Soviet Russia's national anthem.

I think the reason that I don't like my country's anthem(s) is that, to me, they tend to sound melodramatic, sappy, and lethargic.

Is this normal?

national anthems are just a way to create borders and national pride so that young people will go to war.

I just wish we didnt have to stand every time they play. I can be just as respectful seated as I can be standing damn it. It should be that if you sing out loud you can sit.

  Yes, I agree. I remember going to a Yankee ball game a few years back with family and when the national anthem came up, I refused to stand. One of my family members was upset. I think that she was more concerned about how the other people would view her. I caught the eyes of some people seated behind me, and I recall them or just him, looking disgusted and mad. He didn't know me personally. He shouldn't have been judging me. I'm glad that I don't go to these types of games anymore.
