Is it normal that i don't like female comedians?
Female comedians, to me, just seem awkward and unfunny somehow, compared to their male counterparts. Also, all these vagina jokes suck.

I'm going to have to be honest with myself here: I love stand up, I see it as art. and despite the countless hours of stand up I consume I just don't know many female comics that really make me laugh. Most of them just aren't funny and cringey at best. I think Sarah Silverman and Aisling Bea are the two I like the most, but thats not a lot considering how many male comics I enjoy. It's weird because some of the funniest people I know are women, and it never feels awkward. Maybe i'm subconsciously sexist without realising, or just haven't found enough female comics. anyone know any good female comics for me to listen to?
I just want a comedian that is funny. Not female comedians. Just a funny as hell comedian, sex plays no part, if you are funny I like you.
Tom Sergura, Louis ck, daniel tosh, John Mulaney to name a few.
For me, one of the funniest comediennes ever was Phyllis Diller. And you couldn’t make vag jokes in those days. Check her out on YouTube: https://youtu.be/rlehST34jTQ
My sister called me on the phone the day that Joan Rivers died, and I literally burst into tears within a minute of getting the news! I think a lot of people in the younger generation think of Joan Rivers as this old lady doing fashion police type stuff on the E network, but she was truly a comedy great!
She was a tough old broad, and that old story about never leaving anything in her dressing room in case she got fired from a gig really speaks to my heart for some reason.
The one exception for Mel. I never could stand Joan Rivers, and when she hosted the Tonight Show for Johnny, I would turn it off.
I think Chris Tucker is an exception.. I would still dislike him even if he was female.
I like a few. I think Kathleen Madigan is hilarious. Natasha Leggero and Ali Wong are pretty funny. Chappelle and Burr are still my favorites though.
Theres this double standard (with any job) where men get judged on their performance, but women get judged on performance and being a woman. If a man sucks, its because he is unfunny. If a woman sucks, its because she is a woman, and unfunny. Women can do anything men can do (relatively speaking) but sometimes women feel like they have to announce that they are a woman doing something a man can also do, and that takes the attention away from the skill.
I saw a stat once and female comedians joke way more about sex and sex related stuff than male ones. I don't find them that funny by and large either, some of them are though but there seem to be less of them. Demi Lardner is the epitome of cringe; look up my dad's google history by her.
Some are actually hilarious but they're not mainstream unfortunately. The mainstream female comedians aren't that great but there are a ton of funny ones out there.
I mean this isn't a sex thing. You just dont have any female ones you happen to like.
Tina Fey is good. But stand up comedians are meh in general. I prefer comedy that's not contrived and instead organic or unexpected
