Is it normal that i don't like "bitch" and "strong woman" being associated?

I have noticed that often times, women that act out and tell people off while claiming "I'm just being honest" (when no one asked for their opinion), act in a vulgar manner and draw attention to themselves via their aggression are considered "strong women". When a man acts like that, he is considered an asshole! But more often than not, I hear women being called "bitch" as it is synonymous with being a "strong woman". And often they are proud of being called a bitch, because to them it means that they are a strong woman!

Maybe this conflicts with my ideal of what a strong woman is, which is not a woman that curses people out, tells people nasty things and acts in aggression when there is no need to. But I just don't see how being a "strong woman" came to mean being a huge bitch!

Is it normal that I don't like it that being a bitch and being a strong woman are associated with each other?

women that act out and tell people off while claiming "I'm just being honest"

Those aren't strong women. Those are cunts.
They're just trying to pretend that "strength" is the same thing as attacking people for their own pleasure.

REAL women with strength are the ones who hold up under pressure.

Women who can't function without being cruel - they are weak. If they were truly strong then they wouldn't need to lash out in order to feel adequate.

I couldn't agree more. Many women who claim to "tell it like it is" are actually tactless & inconsiderate.

I don't consider it "just being honest", I consider it rude, especially when you are not even asked for your opinion, "That's just MY opinion".

I wholeheartedly agree with what you are saying.

Bitches give real "strong women" a bad name. They are too completely different ideas! Now a strong woman can be a bitch, but not because she is a strong woman, just because she is a bitch!

God I actually despise the term "strong women". It's so degradingD:

    STRONG WOMEN ARE NOT BITCHES.
BITCHES ARE MALES AND FEMALES THAT ARE MEAN/EVIL/SPITEFUL PEOPLE.

  • If a woman is being a bitch, then she's a bitch. If she wants to call being a bitch as being a strong woman, then that is a negative, not a positive.
Feminism does this all the time. As soon as they are called something for doing something wrong, they automaticly try to change the whole meaning and reason for being called something negative in to something positive because they can't handle facing the problems the female gender has.

It's the same with the "If a man hits you, you can hit back" thing. If a man hits a woman, and she hits him back, people cheer, they call her a strong woman. If a woman hits a man, and he hits her back, he is an asshole, pathetic, etc. It beats me how women are strong women when they can hit something, most of the times the thing that doesn'tr retaliate (male), but as soon as they are hit back, they are to be treated like little princesses.

I agree with you here, but I really wish you would stop using the term "feminism" as a blanket term, as if it's a sports team or something. It isn't true that "feminism does this" - it's IDIOTS within the movement that do this. Of course there are feminists who are hypocritical idiots, but the purpose of the movement is NOT to degrade men, believe it or not. There are policemen who are corrupt, but that doesn't mean "policemanism" is a terrible entity.

I am a feminist, I have studied gender politics. Every description you've written of feminism does not apply to me, and I can tell you that your descriptions are incorrect or anecdotal. If you want to describe a particular feminist that you've met who's hypocritical, that's fine, but that doesn't mean the entire movement is a failure.

There's a difference between being a bitch and being a strong woman, y'know?

Unfortunately, bitches mistake themselves as strong, independent women. That sort of thinking is merely their flimsy justification for insulting people.

A truly strong person, not just a strong woman, doesn't need to proclaim to the whole world that they are STRONG and no one should fuck with them. Strong does not necessarily equal aggression; more of emotionally strong in this context.

don't know about where you come from but where I live bitch is't an insult it just means a strong of stubborn woman
like my friend: I say "you're such a bitch but I love you" she says "love you too"

It's the bitches doing that to feel better about themselves.
They are not at all emotionally strong or mature if they need this kind of justification to satisfy themselves.

  • If you can recognize that haters gonna hate, and their hate is not about you, then you're a strong woman. Go about your business and stay out of other people's petty arguments, and you're a strong woman.

i think i strong woman is much more humble than all that, and only turns into a beast when necessary, like to protect someone she loves or to protect her body or principles. a strong woman will work as hard as a man and not expect people to make exceptions for her. she'll think before she speaks, and is pretty much exactly like a strong man but with different parts. this being said i do sometimes refer to myself as "a hard bitch" and a "party girl", but i have a penis.

In my opinion, a bitch is someone who's mean for no reason, or not a good enough reason. But being honest isn't a bad thing. There's a difference between being honest and being rude.

Yeah true- army'1. It really gets on my nerves tho where some so called strong women , are out to prove they are a "strong women" . I mean who gives a f'k , there's strong men there's strong women , so what !
Strong people don't have to go around proving it and shouting it from rooftops . Some of the toughest women in business running some of the biggest companies in the world , are actually quite feminine and humble in there way, not parading around with the " I am a strong women" stuck across their forehead. They know they're smart and they know how to use what they have .
Why do those stupid bitches have to go round proving it and making it a statement - who gives a toss . Those type remind me of the guys that feel they have to prove they're tough , or smart , or a big man . It's the same thing.

Yes, this usual entails a woman who is super insecure and lashes out in anger, it's pathetic, it's not a strength. I totally agree.

I can see the association, but I don't buy it. The woman you described does not appear strong to me. She is scared and unhappy.

  • I never call women "bitches" when they yell at me...i say "shut up you cunt". It is amazing, you say that to guy and he's like "oh whatever", but you say it to a woman and bam, their mouth drops open (it's even funnier to a female stranger that has a go). I lol everytime.

When someone says "strong woman" I think hmm trying to hide that you're a "dyke" or "slut" or "crazy feminist weakling" but never "bitch"

Meow meow only the weak feel the need to be called strong because it's something they want not something they have, thats why even my mom hates feminists lol.
