Is it normal that i don't consider these movies sequels?

I'm certain a few of you are familiar with Don Bluth's movie, Land Before Time. Well, for those who are, I don't believe the 12 sequels to this movie are actual sequels. To me, they seem more like dumbed down, cheaply made spin-offs. They ruined LBT's reputation for some fans too.

As far as I'm concerned, Land Before Time is a solo-movie deal. It has no sequels. Unless they were made by Don Bluth (obviously they weren't), they will never be cannon to the original LBT.

    I didn't even know there were any sequels to Land Before Time. New thing learned.
