Is it normal that i don't consider my birthfather to be my real father?

I don't love my birthfather and even though he biologically assisted in bringing me into this world, I don't consider him to be my real father because he's a bad man. I'll never consider him to be my father. IIN?

I don't consider my biological father a father either. I don't even call him dad I call him by his first name. So yes I think it's okay not to consider him your father

    • He hasn't been in my life for a very long time. Back when my mom was still with him, he was an alcoholic. I don't know about today though but I wouldn't be suprised if he still does abuse alcohol.

  • My mom divorced him when my brother and I were little kids so he hadn't been in my life for many years. I was never mistreated growing up my birthfather was just a lazy, good-for-nothing piece of shit that harmed my mother nearly killing her multiple times, stole her money, and tried harming my twin brother back when we were both babies. My birthfather didn't do anything for me or my brothers. That's why I don't consider my birthfather to be my real father.
