Is it normal that i do random food combos?

I'm 20 and my whole life I've always kinda had a weird train of thought when it comes to food. I don't really like trying new things unless they look, smell good, and tend to avoid ingredients I don't like (ham, buffalo chicken wing sauce, spinach, fruit with meat) but I will try random combinations that simply pop into my head out of nowhere.

One thing I decided to do (fairly recently too) is to mix in some vanilla flavored yogurt into some eggs that was going to cook up for a breakfast burrito. Another time, I bought a cheap $1 frozen cheeseburger and instead of putting mustard/ketchup/onion/etc. on it... I had put some chocolate ice cream on it... and I loved both examples. I'll also mix up some mustard, ketchup, mayo, and relish and put it on some fried fish.

Is this normal? And please give some examples of the weird stuff that you've thought up of and tried.

Like to add sauce to your food.

        • Oh. I don't do only sauces. I also pair different foods together that a lot of people wouldn't normally do.

What about this, fried onions with fish, chilli, eggs and goat meat.
    It's awesome.

    • I've never had goat and I don't really care for fish... but if it smells good and looks good, I'd try a little bit of it.

  • I can't believe I forgot to mention the I LOVE basic yellow mustard on pizza. It first came to mind out of boredom and I was kinda thinking of it like a mustard and ketchup deal due to the tomato based sauce.

I think the weirdest combo I ate was chocolate onion french toast. I did not like it.

    • That's... definitely a weird combo. I do highly recommend the vanilla yogurt being whipped into the eggs before making scrambled eggs. They become extremely fluffy. I don't use a lot of yogurt so that the flavor isn't overkill. Maybe a plastic spoon full of yogurt for 2 eggs. The eggs also become a little sweet from the yogurt. If you try this out, please give me your thoughts on it.

If my forgetful brain remembers and I have both things in stock then, I'll give it a shot.
        :)

        • You could also do sticky notes or something. And if I didn't already know better than to mix chocolate, onions, and french toast together... I probably would've been game for it.

The scrambled eggs and yogurt were okay. It's not something I'd eat a lot. Thanks for the suggestion.

            • No problem. I'm actually surprised you tried it. XD It is a nice mix up from usual eating though, right?
