I am not refering to girls who truely have feelings for other girls in this post.

Who I am referring to are the ones who are not really lesbian but jump on the band wagon to feel cool amongst their peers. The girls who think that

1. If I Sleep with another girl, it will make my boyfriend think i'm hot! He will totally think I am so sexy.
2. I'm a lesbian! I like girls! And I HATE MEN! Men are evil sacks of shit who just objectify and opress women!!
3. My friends are lesbians! So let me blend in and say I am a lesbian too! Just so I don't miss out on anything.

Allow me to rebuttal...
1. That's just stupid. That does not make you a lesbian if you are only sleeping with another woman to make yourself appear to be 'sexier' for your man. In a matter of fact, I know a girl who actually did that. She thought it would make her out to be cool and popular and make her boyfriend want her more. Reality hit her like a freight train when her boyfriend left her because she cheated on him...and now she only likes girls because ONE man broke up with her
Which brings me to the next
2. No. That's just as asinine... Just because you hate men doesnt give you a pass to become a lesbian. A homosexual lady truly feels love towards another woman, she cannot help how she feels. But what is this bullshit about oy liking other women out of spite for men? It doesn't work that way.
3. Miss out? On what? I understand teenagers who think this, for they are still trying to discover themselves and they are free to experiement. But some people who have said this to me are in their 40's. And, in my cynical opinion, you should have left that " I just want to fit in" mentality after you turned 20.

It just baffles me how some of these people claim to be lesbians because of THESE three ridiculous reasons, that of which I hear the most.
If you are a lesbian, you should claim to be one because you truly hold romantic feelings for the same sex, not because of these reasons...

Is it normal for me to dislike this mentality of the fake wanna be lesbians?

    My response? There is nothing wrong with sleeping with another girl to be hot. They're obviously not claiming to be lesbian if they have a boyfriend. You're just being stuck up.

    Not annoying, really. It's no different from pretending to be straight to blend in with friends. It's better to be yourself, though. You shouldn't hate them for this.

    They annoy me too. I'm bi but whenever a girl says she has "turned lesbian" it just pisses me off. People who think that if they have sex with the opposite sex it isn't cheating are idiots. Did you have sex with someone other than your partner? Then yes! It's cheating!
