Is it normal that i can't stick to a diet unless i fast and get quick results?

I can't seem to find the patience to go through with a sensible diet, as I get bored of the slow progress and give up. The most successful diets I have completed all started with a fast as saw results so quickly it spurred me to keep going.

Anyone else like this? How to I cure my impatience? Or should I just fast?

Fasting actually increases your weight in the long term. Your body assumes that food is scarce and so saves fat in case of a long famine. Instead, once your blood sugar levels get low, your body starts digesting muscle to lower your metabolism. Thus you burn fewer calories on a day to day basis and overtime will probably get fatter.

Being fat is a symptom of a unhealthy lifestyle. There is no temporary fix to this. A 'diet' usually consists of a person temporarily restricting calories, which in turn puts the body in starvation mode, trying to conserve every calorie not to lose weight. This is counterproductive to your goal, and not to mention detrimental to your emotional well being. The solution? You must permanently change your eating habits and start exercising. Try eating the healthiest foods while exercising, drinking tea, eating vegetables, etc. Also what really made a difference to me, I quit eating all non organic meat, because regular meat is pumped with hormones that make the livestock fat and in turn makes us fat. I only eat grass fed beef, organic chicken, no pork whatsoever.

Ah, there's the rub... the quick diets may give you very fast results, but they're not long-lasting results.

A serious weight-loss plan needs to be slow. The idea is that you actually change your lifestyle and habits for good... not just for a few days.

If they were successful diets, then why do you still need to diet?

Quick weight loss isn't an indicator of success. A successful diet is one in which you don't have to "diet" to maintain a healthy weight. A quick fix never works for long term goals.
