Is it normal that i can't be hypnotized?

I went to at least 3 well known/respected hypnotherapists, and had a couple of session w/ each, but still could not be hypnotized... My mother, in the other hand, had no difficulty. I wonder why it is... I really wanted to be hypnotized.

My shrink was unsuccessful in hypnotizing me... I think one can't be hypnotized if they're bad at relaxing their body.

    • I do believe in it. Saw people being hypnotized w/ my own eyes in fact, and I don't think they'd have a reason to fake it..

Maybe you were hypnotized to think you can't be hypnotized?...... lol
Kelili is right - Some people just simply can not be hypnotized. It doesn't say anything about you as a person wether you can or not. Save yourself some money, sounds like you are one of those people who will never get to be hypnotized.

There are people who are not responsive. That's a fact. You would have known if you had googled it. It's not a question of believing or not.

    • Of course there are - I'm a living proof. Just wanted to ask how normal it truly is and see people's opinions and experiences.I mean, Internet pages in general always seem to say that non responsive people are a minority, and the therapists I visited seemed to back up those claims, yet most of the people I talked to and had tried it bfore said they had no response, either... This got me curious I guess.
