Is it normal that i believe that every country should have a one-child limit?

Since the world is horrendously overpopulated (7.1 Billion), I believe that every country around the world should enforce a 1-Child Limit. Anyone who breaks the limit is to get a forced abortion and sterilized. The world is suffering because of excess breeding and we can barely take care of the population we have now so how is it a good idea to bring 2+ kids into the world? It isn't. It'll only make things worse. If we don't place control on everyone's breeding, then eventually it'll get to a point where no one's basic needs can be met and everyone will suffer horribly. Atleast with One-Child Limits in place we could possibly curb our population growth. Is it normal that I want this to happen?

That policy is totally not biting China on the arse.

Tip for you OP: having a different view point from you does not equate to being "mean". Think about that before you go into a deletion frenzy.

I think its completely normal and applaud you for posting this. Eventually it will happen. Or something similar. You should watch the comedian Bill Burr in his stand up called "Let it Go"

Due to overpopulation, no couple should ever have more than 2 biological kids and single folk can only have one birthchild. Surviving is much more important than the "right" to have as many kids as you want. Having children isn't a "right" it's a PRIVELEDGE that most people abuse. If you can successfully have a baby, you are LUCKY. But you aren't entiltled to it. Just because it may be natural does NOT mean people shouldn't be responsible and have 1-2 kids.

I don't know about you, but I do NOT want to die horribly because the selfish assholes that wanted 3+ kids GOT those 3 or more kids. Others should never have to suffer because of someone else's poor choices. Yes, having 3 or more kids is a poor choice in today's economy and the planet.

I just hope I can die before those irresponsible baboons ruin everything for me as well as the others that don't have 3+ kids.

What if their child dies or they divorce/remarry after being widowed? In theory it doesn't sound too bad but in reality it is not practical.

So people would only want sons and the sex ratio would be skewed like in china and India and millions of men will never marry and feel so frustrated that they'll turn to rape and violence. It's already happening in those two countries.

      India doesn't have a one-child policy.

I know but they do have skewed ratios.

That's true. But I think that's more of a cultural problem than a child limit problem. I'm sure if a country like Sweden or something like that enforced a one-child limit, there wouldn't be more males than females.

          *high fives*

I recently moved to Kingwood, Texas which is just North of Houston and I'm already starting to feel less depressed. I lived in the Summerlin area of Las Vegas for roughly 15 years, and although it's quite nice and posh there's still a film of douchebaggery. Everything feels so plastic phoney and sleazy in Las Vegas.

I lived a block ( not a city block) from Redd. Use to use his pool with my godsister and all her teenage gf's. Redds doing. He'd sing dirty songs on the piano. I helped remodel the house for the movie Casino..and was robbed at gunpoint at home by Mike n Mark Mastro. Part of the old hole in the wall gang. Poor Ned Day. Fun times. Tark n the Rebels.

Economics and statistics tend to disagree with you.

First the economic aspect. If we did implement a policy of 1 child per family, then there are dire consequences down the road in the future. 20 years later, the amount of new workers coming into the workforce is suddenly slashed, leaving businesses scrambling to find new ways to do without or in some cases hiring the older generations, who would like nothing else but to retire. At the same time that reduction in working and consuming citizens also sends the demand for products into the floor, causing further economic problems. The fact is if a policy of population control is ever to work, it needs to be a much milder grade than the one you are proposing.

Let's also take a look at where exactly this excess population is coming from. If you look at world census data, it becomes obvious that first world countries are not the issue here. At the very most, population growth in the technological countries is +1 with few exceptions. There are even quite a few countries that are dropping in population in Europe and other countries. This population growth is coming mostly from Africa and the poorer nations, where the children are either necessary for survival or are being born out of ignorance to contraception that is available.

I've been thinking about this a lot too. I think 2 kids should be a fair limit though. There can be benefits from the One-Child policy, then there can be disadvantages but I think it could be more beneficial because then there would be less pollution, more resources, and more job oppurtunities for people seeking work. :)

Well I suppose that might help with overpopulation problems. I would say we stop all together and just start adopting. I also believe that they should stop drop the standards for who can and cant raise a child. I mean if a crackhead has a child naturally legally its their child. However if someone who works a lot and makes a decent pay check wants a kid they get denied for working too much. The fuck kind of logic is that? Natural birth parents put kids in daycare too. If anything we need less children in the world. So we should start encouraging people to adopt the ones who are already here.

Studies show that the more women are educated, the less children they have.

That sounds like a better solution to me.

Btw, only the environmentalists want population to decrease. Population decrease sucks for economists.

You really want a world with no uncles? No aunts? No cousins? No siblings?
