It's normal but not good. Many people behave like that when drinking. Those people should not drink.

When some people drink, they turn into a whole different person. In your case that sounds like a major problem. I suggest drink less often or not at all.

  • There is really only one answer to this problem, disregard what everyone is telling you about giving up drinking.

You need to drink MORE not less, that way you will build up a tolerance to it and be able to learn to control yourself more.

It could be what you're drinking too, or your mood before going into a party. Try and tone it down a bit, and if that doesn't help, you might have to give it up completely.

You are on your way to alcoholism. If you have the tolerance to drink to blackout your already have issues to deal with. I find it unlikely you will just be able to wake up and quit. It will be a struggle for you and be dilligent about making sure you do not replace it with something else like drugs. Drugs from a doctor or not from a doctor doesn't matter. This may be your one chance to quit somewhat more easily than in another few months or a year. Try this: Do some controlled drinking, make the decision that you are not going to drink to the point of being totally shit faced just get buzzed. Try that for thirty days if you end up real drunk or in a blackout or fight you an alcoholic and should hit some AA meetings.... good luck becareful

Uhm.... Ive been blackout drunk before, and I drink maybe a few times a month and have a shit tolerance due to the having little desire to ingest something so toxic. So being able to get blackout drunk doesnt necessarily an alcoholic make; I sure as fuck dont need AA. I also dont get blackout drunk anymore because thats usually something that happens when youre inexperienced and havent learned to drink responsibly; I feel like if youre not changing youre drinking patterns after a few nasty hangovers you really need to reevaluate your position in life XD

If it has only been happening recently it could be because
    1) The chemistry of your brain is changing (maybe your brain si still developing, I'm assuming you are under 25) and it is processing the alcoholic effects differently, in which case I'd advise moderating or eliminating your alcohol intake.

    2) You might be experiencing hormonal changes and the alcohol is exaggerating normal hormone fluctiations, in which case I'd say moniter your cycle so you know when you can and can't drink, maybe take a pregnancy test just in case.

    3) It might be interacting with other things you are doing (dietary issues or changes, drugs etc.) or maybe the type of alchohol you normally drink is not the type you've been drinking lately. Tequilla is known to make people pretty violent (although it does not do that for me).

Examine 1-3 if you REALLY want to continue drinking and want to keep it safe, but I'd reccommend that you quit alltogether.
