Is it normal that i barely talk or leave my bedroom?

When I'm at home I stay in my room as much as possible and only use the bathroom when everyone's sleeping or when I'm home alone. To avoid holding in my waste product by barely eating or drinking anything.
When I was in school I'd always sit in the same spot at lunch time and never eat or drink anything at school. Only talked if I was spoken to but eventually I started ignoring the other students but not the teachers. Their was a day that I decided to ask a girl a question and she counted the words I said and told everyone that I said 7 words to her.
At work I only talk if I'm forced too(I say a few words a day). People make up lots of rumours about me because I barely talk. Some people think I'm autistic, self centred, retarded, mentally ill...etc

Sounds to me like you are indeed ill. It's definitely not normal to act the way you do. I would hurry on down to a shrink and see if you couldn't get to a point where you aren't completely wasting this wonderful thing you've been given called a life.

I'm exactly the same - why are you this way?

    • It started when my brothers and sisters constantly bullied me. I only had one childhood friend who barely went to school and I got bullied a lot in school. My mother always watched TV or she was at work so she didnt pay attention to me. So I figured its better to hide and act like I don't exist.

Again, sounds like me. So you're not shy, then, you're just choosing to be quiet? Do you get lonely, or are you content?

It's OK to be introverted, but you should get out occasionally for sex.

LOL she counted! Hahahaha....ok you have an extreme case of social awkwardness but I was like this in high school and even now in college, I like to stay in my room most of the time during the holidays...

Seems like you have no confidence in yourself. Is your confidence level low? Are you always second guessing what you say? If so, that'll explain why you barely talk. If that's it I would research things that can help you build your confidence, so you'll be able to verbalize yourself.

I witnessed a girl like this a few months ago. She was morbidly quiet but not shy. Didn't interact herself but spoke when spoken to. Stayed in one spot and wasn't fidgety but it seemed to be out of choice than inability. Not that I label people to begin with coughexceptforclosefriendsandfamilycough, but I would say there was nothing wrong with that girl. It seemed like that's just who she was and enjoyed it, instead of there being an underlying reason.

You, I can't say yet. Have you tried to figure out yourself why you're this way? And what do you believe is the reason you're this way?

Just means you like to keep to yourself - an introvert.
