Is it normal that i am only interested in surrounding myself with older people?

I work in an office full of women. All from age 30-55. I love them all to bits and pieces. They are the greatest group to be around ever!

I don't talk to anyone from high school anymore because their kind of "fun" is far different than mine. However, the plus side is is that they're my age.

I've always seemed to have these troubles. I'm not a huge party person, I'm an old soul, I love oldies rock tunes, and I like being in an atmosphere where I'm surrounded by adults that have experienced the years that I'm about to.

I would LOVE to even ask if any one of them would be interested in going out for a beer or something. I think that would be super. Legit, I get along with them all perfectly. I call them "friends."

It's unfortunate because I WISH there were hippies my age that had the same interests. But everyone else has their "besties" and their "girls" and "guys." I'd love to be a part of it, but if I did, I'd basically conform and pretend I was someone I wasn't (which is silly). Whereas with the office ladies, I'm everything and more myself than ever.

Why is that? Is that even right?

You should ask them to hang out and see what happens. I don't know if a 50+ would but under 50 might say yes.
