I cant go in anywhere where there is an elevator unless my mom draggs me by my hair & says stop being stupid. then i just cant breath when im in one i even have nightmares about them:// is that normal ???

My heart beats fast when I get on elevators. I always feel like the ropes will snap and the elevator will fall. But, I try to think about other things when I get in one now and just try not to think about it.

We've had lots of power outages lately and one thing that's been talked about is what to expect if you're in one without backup power and how you get out. Elevators have been around a long time and are pretty safe today. There's a really big counterweight so if something goes wrong you're more likely to go up than down.

    Normal in my eyes.
I start sweating like a bitch when I'm in and lift. Like "sherry" said, its because you feel like you're not in control. I have the same sense when I'm on public transport...thats why i tend to make my own way everywhere and use the stairs :P

You're afraid of elevators because you feel like you're not in control. ALL bathrooms are nasty but I don't think anything will jump up your butt. And, in case you forgot, you have a immune system that works very, very hard to keep you well. By the way your immune system is fighting off at least 3 cancers in your body at any given time. Your body is an amazing thing.
