Is it normal that i always root against the home team?

Okay, so when I lived in Boston, I couldn't stand the Red Sox, but right after I left Boston, they became my favorite team and now, I root for the Red Sox and all other Boston teams fervently. Also, I always root against America in the Olympics. In general, wherever I'm living, I root against all their teams until I leave and then I root for them. Is this normal?
