Is it normal that i’m a lesbian but am sexually attracted to some men *sometimes*?

Soooo, I’m a lesbian. I have a lesbian lover and am attracted to women like a lot. But for some reason (and it’s usually when I’m on my period) I find myself sexually attracted to certain guys. It’s more like a fantasy or some sort of desire. I can’t see myself with a guy like ever... and I’m in love with my girlfriend. I’m just confused as to how I can get aroused through men. (Also, I’m a gold star lesbian — never been with a guy). What do you all think? Let me know in the comments! Thanks.

While on their periods some women crave chocolate. You crave sausage. It's okay.

  • I knew a girl who said the same thing

It's not so much of a stretch of the imagination for me to see the correlation between going through your cycle and a heightened sense of heterosexuality; your vagina functions to produce offspring, your estrogen drops and testosterone rises (increasing libido), there's more I'm sure but just these two facts should make it make sense

      100%

When I’m ovulating, I’d fuck a brick wall.

My grandma always use the phrase “he’d stick his dick in brick wall”. It really does it for me.

If you are also attracted to men, it would not make you lesbian it would make you sound more bisexual.

    • But the thing is, is that I’m not attracted to men consistently. It’s only on my period. Plus it’s merely superficial and sexual. I can’t imagine myself ever being with a guy, besides I have a female partner. I’m just wondering what’s the matter with me...

You seem like a few of the lgbt women I know. They consider themselves bisexual. There's really nothing wrong with liking more than one gender.

Nothing! How would you feel about a woman with a penis or a man with a vulva? I'm only asking because it might be worth asking yourself some questions about that. There are plenty of lesbians who are interested in trans women who keep their penis.

Do you and/or partner ever use penetration during sex? You might be bi, you might be lesbian. But very very few people are truly a 1 or 6 on the old Kinsey Scale (I'm bi, non-binary and a 3 last time I checked).

Sorry for throwing you some rather personal questions - just thought you might like to know you're not alone and nothing's wrong with you

Perhaps it is something about them that makes you aroused.

        Comment Hidden ( show )
  • So you're not a lesbian.

    • I think I am a lesbian. Besides I have a girlfriend. I just feel sexually attracted to some guys when I’m on my period. Afterwards it goes away. I don’t want to have sex with a guy and never have. That’s why this is so confusing to me. Not sure I’m looking to “label” myself though. Just wondering if I’m the only one going through this.

You're either bisexual with a strong preference for women or what you're experiencing are "man crushes" such as if a straight man would find another man attractive or a straight woman find another woman attractive which happens. There are platonic crushes. Could you imagine sleeping with those men you find attractive? If not it's probably nothing but if you could then you're bisexual. Feeling attracted to someone doesn't always mean you'd want to actually be intimate with them, arousal is just a reaction your body creates naturally.

    • That’s very interesting. I didn’t know anything about that. That’s the thing, I don’t ever want to actually be with a guy. That idea puts me off. It’s just that just before I get on my period, I become intensely aroused by men and women. I was just confused as to how that happens because after my cycle, everything is back to “normal”. Thanks for the info!

I dont believe that anyone is 100% gay or straight. Everyone has some kind of attraction or curiosity towards other humans.

I was once told alot of lesbians like yo go a gay bar and try to hook up with women hoping they'll have a dick. It was said to me from someone from Seattle of I recall correctly so definutly not a broad generalization just a local one. Point being though sexuslity us fluid. If you like a dude ride his dick. If you like a woman idk eat her out or whatever.

well right after your period is your most fertile, and your body's natural instinct says let's make a baby.... No more no less

    • I don’t really know. I’ve never used the bi label and I’m not sure that I’m looking to label myself as one thing or the other. I’ve always preferred women and have only exclusively dated and slept with women. This whole thing is new. It just started happening a couple months ago. That’s what’s so weird about it.

You're bi but oriented towards women. I know quite a few lesbians and they never feel attraction to men, not even on their period.
