In serious movies murder scenes are filmed like sex scenes. The psychology in how a scene is "scary" is often tied to sexuality, sometimes even more than other base instincts or primal fears. When I say serious, I mean actually scary and disturbing, not a comedy like slasher films.
Yes, death scenes in horror, especially slasher movies are basically analogous to sex scenes in porn; any film student can tell you that.

no death = no horror
There is some evidence of heightened sexual attraction under conditions of anxiety.
