Is it normal that he refuses to accept my reasons for breaking up with him?

I recently ended a long term relationship, and he has been trying to get me back ever since. We both love each other. I have told him a million times that I was not happy with his lack of open communication, dishonesty and doing things behind my back. He was also uninterested in our future.

He is refusing to accept my reason and saying there must be more to the reason I ended the relationship, because he doesn't see any if my reasons as valid. He believes that in a relationship, all you need is love, and the rest is all "bull**it"

Is this normal?

    Tough titties for him. Stop communicating with him; don't call him or take his calls.
    He's either very childish or just plain stupid, so what do you want to be around him for? You'll get over him in time and perhaps you'll choose your next boy friend with a bit more care.

    Love is an emotion we have no control or agency over, and I think it's dangerously naive to think that anyone can be completely satisfied by an emotion they have no control or agency over. People as *individuals* are defined by our *individual* choices, and since love isn't an individual choice I don't think I'd feel like I was being true to myself if I ignored my individual thoughts in favour of reactionary love. That's not to say love isn't beautiful, but love isn't true if you have to turn your brain off and turn a blind eye to the problems that stop you as an individual living the life you want.

    And them's my thoughts :P

    Sounds to me like you should have got to know him first more, some people don't care about the future or sharing. Or telling others what they do, its called being secretive.
    Some people are like that, accept it, if you knew that why did you get with him in the first place? Do your research girl.
