Is it normal that chatrooms always contain the same 5 characters?
Every chatroom I've ever been in since I was 13 and chatting in those AOL rooms, seem to contain the saaaammmeee 5 types of people.
1. The Red Queen: This is the one with the BIG head, very full of herself and often completely wrong. However most other's are afraid to challenge her opinion because there'd be hell to pay. The only one that does is the newcomer, who recognizes that any "authority" here is an illusion.
2. Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum: The two who always agree with each other no matter how inane the comment of the other. These two spend most of their time kissing each other's ass and egging each other on, much to the disgust of the onlooker.
3. The Mad Hatter: He's the guy going "Look at me!! Someone talk to me! Hey you, you're a jerk! Respond to me!" Basically the village idiot who no one takes seriously.
4. The Caterpillar: The guy who everyone basically respects and likes because he's pretty neutral, and is only there to stir people up for his own mild amusement.
5. Alice: The newcomer, who recognizes that this world is completely backwards; these people don't know each other, though they think they do...these people don't see the silliness of their dynamic, though she does. Since she's not part of it, they will put aside their differences and attack her as one. They don't want weeds in THEIR bed!
Those who are part of a chatroom probably don't see this dynamic, and will vote "no". But there must be some out there who see through the nonsense.
