I'd say there are some definite "triggers" in those videos; it definitely helps that so many of the people who make these videos are attractive young women! Nothing makes me horny quite like an ASMR video, porn included (porn is obnoxious anyway).
i absolutely agree with you, i think it's a requirement that all ASMR artists have to be beautiful women! they have certain sweetness to them, how they know the effect they have on men, but choose to completely avoid that topic. i love how they whisper to the camera and make it very intimate, and i also love how creative many of the videos are, like role plays, kissing and eating triggers, and other random stuff. the atmosphere is so relaxing and comforting that i feel a disconnect from reality and i picture myself being there with the girl in the video, exploring the wonderful landscape of her mind and imagination. i also like how there are no explicit or overtly sexual themes, but that it is hinted at and suggested, and i think that "indirect" sensuality makes it more romantic, special, and unique. though to be fair i think that is more revealing of the male mind, that an attractive girl doing almost anything (but especially being caring, nurturing, and creative) will be seen as sexy by a man. it' a nice feeling that so many ASMR artists actually listen to their fans and subscribers and are dedicated to producing quality content. if i were to make a comparison, an ASMR video is like a girl wearing sexy lingerie that highlights all her attractive features (while leaving much to the imagination and making it run wild).
I think the sounds themselves make me really turned on, not so much the women. Idk. That kind of stimulation has a very strong effect on me.
