Is it normal that abusive posts are tolerated on this website? During my relatively long time on this website I keep noticing that abusive comments in response to posts about people's real life experiences are tolerated on this website. Reporting them doesn't appear to change anything. The moderators on this site appear to be completely useless.

    Could you possibly post an example? Some people think any criticism at all is "abusive".

      This is not about general constructive criticism. That's not what I'm talking about at all. I'm talking about insults like "loser", and just the fact that people put down others a lot on this website. What I've noticed is that sometimes people post perfectly harmless posts about their real life experiences, just to be insulted and put down by users on here.

        Mods go by popularity not enforcing any kind of guidelines. You should have figured that out by now. If SOME of the popular members are bitches but are still popular they shall remain. That is just how it goes, if you dont want to be picked on just kiss up to management and no one will be able to touch you. The members run the joint not the management, this is basically a play ground for all the rejects and weirdos.

    Everyone on this site is a disembodied bit of text with an opinion, OP. Don't take anytHing here too seriously- such a perspective is bad for your mental heath.

    I believe this OP is talking about my calling a 22 year old man (who did not describe physical or mental deficiencies) who does not work, lives with his parents (mooching off them) and spends all his time in his room, a loser.
    The OP calls it abuse; I call it my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
    Perhaps the OP is also a loser who mooches off his parents and doesn't have a life, so he objects to my opinion?

    You forgot that abusive words like 'idiot' shouldn't affect anyone over the internet unless they personally know them in real life. Everyone has their own way of explaining their view, even with such words.

    I'd prefer it if they were kept up because if we didn't then we'd have to go in to the whole point of the subjective view of abuse, if certain abuse is acceptable in response to someone saying something, and so on.

    For example. If a post about someone saying "Is It Normal I have raped a three year old" was posted and someone responded in an abusive manner, calling them cunts, sick, and so on and soforth, would that response not be justified?

    I'd prefer it for the site to not have a tight leash on it. Sure it means that I'll run in to abuse but I'd rather have to experience that abuse than be on a leash. :)

    Is everyone 10 here? Are you 12?

    Where's all the spam posts? Strange I can't see the buy Viagra posts? Am I blind?
    What's happened to the really illegal posts? Or posts that just don't make sense?

    I feel so sorry for the Mods here, they are abused daily from internally and externally. Its wonder they haven't gone mad. I suspect they change them often.

      Those spam posts are blocked by an auto filter. It has absolutely nothing to do with the moderator. I don't know how long she's been around but I'd wager over a year. It's a paid position. $10 per hour and she doesn't actually do shit.

      I'm not the OP, but I agree with that part of their post. And the beginning of it, to a degree. I base my agreement on actual knowledge, not just what I "think" the "moderators" must go through.

        Yes, the moderator really doesn't do their job on here. People are allowed to insult others by calling them "losers". That really says it all.

          I thought I would be included in that group, tbh, as I'm brutally forward and honest on here and some people don't like that.

          I think the only time it gets to a level where someone should step in is when it turns to actual harrassment. Sometimes weall need a bit of honesty even if we don't like it. But when someone goes and harrasses someone for no reason, it is an issue.
